What a great day!
Today, I had a chance to get out of the house and see a movie with my business partner and 30+ other moms and their babies. This afternoon we had the pleasure of hosting the Stars & Strollers movie at the Cineplex in Orangeville. Carol Anne had called up the manager Adam and asked if they could screen “Bad Moms” for us today, and man did we pack those mamas, babies, and strollers into that theatre!
It was wonderful to see several of our previous doula clients, moms from the Coffee, Tea, Mom & Me monthly socials held at Discover Your Yoga, members of our Orangeville and Area Parenting Facebook Group, plus many new faces from the community and their babies of all sizes and ages.
As a mother to twins I was thrilled and impressed to see another mother to young twins out – a major kudos to her as I probably didn’t get out of the house to any event with my kids until they were at least 5 months old!
The theatre was filled with laughter, tears, and cheers as Mila Kunis, Kathryn Hahn, and Kristen Bell portrayed what motherhood really looks like and that none of us are perfect and that we should embrace our “bad mom” selves. Hell, with twins and a singleton I gave up years ago on trying to be a perfect mom but I know that it was relieving to so many other women to see that we don’t have to be the best at everything, or compare ourselves to others, or worry about being judged by others.
I want to thank my business partner Carol Anne for coming up with this kick-ass idea and for being an awesome bad mom. I really admire you as a parent and not just because of your skills but because of your flaws and your desire to be real and honest with your kids. I feel so blessed that we both are raising sons who are the same age and that we can be there to support each other in the good times and the crappy times of being moms.
Hi my name is Sarah, and I’m a Bad Mom.
