As an introverted person, choosing to dance wasn’t an easy choice. I knew I wanted to do something active that included my daughter, and attending the Salsa Babies class offered in town really pushed my boundaries and made me leave my comfort zone. When the opportunity to teach the Salsa Babies classes came up, I was nervous but saw it as an opportunity to create a modest income without having to sacrifice time with my child. Writing this blog, I hope to inspire you to push your comfort zone, leave the house, meet new people, experience new things and make new memories.
Here is why I think you should choose to dance:
No need to find someone to care for your baby for you to get a workout in! Wearing your baby in class keeps them close and comfortable while you rock them to sleep with your rhythmic motions.
“Loud music and sleeping babies don’t mix!", "The class is during my child’s regular nap time, it will throw off the rest of our day!” ...Says any parent who has not attended a Salsa Babies class! Contrary to what you may think, most babies fall asleep during class and that is the very reason we recommend babies are held inward facing during class. The smooth rhythmic motions of your dancing may sooth your baby to sleep, giving you another tool in your belt to get a cranky baby to sleep.. worked for mine every time!
