As a Postpartum & Infant Care Doula I spend A LOT of time with families during those first few days, weeks, and months with their new baby and with almost every family a conversation about Babywearing would come up. Now, if the family had a Stretchy Wrap, I was super comfortable with talking about it and doing a demonstration for them, but with any other type I would find myself fumbling and getting nervous.
It was at this point in the training that I *reluctantly* tried on a ring sling (I already *knew* I wouldn't like it). But then it happened. I put the weighted doll into the carrier and, well....
I fell in love with the ring sling!
Sure, the woven wraps are versatile, the buckle wraps are all the rage (who doesn't know someone with a Baby Bjorn), and the stretchy wraps are available everywhere (literally). But the ring sling appealed to me in a very different way. I can't even put my finger on why I love them so much, but the moment I began tightening the fabric through the rings the experience felt organic and I connected with this carrier more than the others.
